I'm a piper living in Landrevarzec, in Brittany. I've been making the RedWood drone reeds, Boderiou pipe chanters and bagpipes for a few years now. I also like to teach locally, across the world (Canada, USA, Australia, Scotland, Switzerland etc) and over Skype on a regular basis. I'm playing with Bagad Cap Caval back here and also played with Shotts and Dykehead and Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, winning the World title with them in 2009.
As long as I can remember, there always was either Scottish, Irish or Breton music playing at home. I can clearly remember listening again and again to "If the cap fits" by Kevin Burke, the Irish fiddler and the CD "Out from another side" by Liam O'Flynn when I was a kid. Today, apart from piping, I listen to a lot of jazz music: Charlie Parker, Avishai Cohen, Julien Lourau, Bojan Z and electronic music Amon Tobin, Bonobo, Squarepusher. On the piping side, Jack Lee, Fred Morrison, Martyn Bennett, Gordon Duncan, Stuart Liddell and Willie McCallum are some of my favorites.
I've always been amazed by the combined sound of the Great Highland Bagpipes chanter and drones; it gives a projection unmatched by any other musical instrument. The embellished fingering and repertoire did the rest when I started at 9 I guess. I also play the uilleann pipes, saxophone and bombard from time to time.
My main musical goals are to keep playing the pipes and experimenting/composing Breton, Scottish and Irish music and to keep developing my own piping business. I released two piping albums for now called « A UNAN » and « Morenn », I'd like to release many more in the future.
